As we share our last blog of the year, it feels like the perfect moment to celebrate all the incredible work you have achieved. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week and now UK Small Business Week. We have had so many interesting founders and business owners walk through the Brixton Warehouse doors — all with a story, many of whom we will interview in our Meet the Owners Brixton Warehouse blog.

They are all at different stages of their journey. Some are doing their first shoot, others are celebrating milestones with anniversary parties, or activating their brand with a multimedia content day.

The one thing they all have in common is that they’ve taken the bold step to make their idea real, many stepping away from the security of a corporate job and into the unknown. We include photographers, stylists and videographers in the same class: independents who have a strong belief and have stepped out on their own.

So here’s to you — the entrepreneurial heroes. Whether you’re just starting out, launching another business into your portfolio, fulfilling a dream you’ve had since age ten, or still pushing to get your business off the ground, we see you. As we close out the year, we want to celebrate everything you’ve built and let you know we’re here to support your journey.

Building Community: Living Proof Creative Mixer

Living Proof held a creative mixer bringing together local South London creatives — a really fun evening full of games and activities to break the ice and encourage collaboration. It was a great chance to share creative ideas, mix with other ambitious creatives and maybe form some coalitions on projects. They say surround yourself with people like you, and people you want to be like.

If you fancy coming to the next one for a chance to rub shoulders with other creatives, look out for our Insta post via @brixtonwarehouse.

Innovation in Action: PAIR

One standout innovative start-up company that used the space for shooting content was PAIR. I was lucky enough to interview James Kuht, MBE, Co-founder and CEO of PAIR. https://www.pairnow.ai

PAIR helps organisations move from AI ambition to adoption. If you’re looking for inspiration, James’s story will certainly do that. He was an early adopter of AI and has a passion for keeping the human expert front and centre — creating a partnership with AI rather than cancelling us out. He really has seized the moment and taken the opportunities that have presented themselves.

From Dragons’ Den to Our Studio

We had the exciting Dragons’ Den winners — veterinarian Dr Guy Sandelowsky and former investment banker Shiv Sivakumar — shoot their content at our studio with a bunch of extremely adorable pups. These guys really know their market, and their talent was spotted by Steven Bartlett and Deborah Meaden, who backed them on their clever plant-based dog food. https://omni.pet

They weren’t the only Dragons’ Den contestants. Jay McGregor, founder of

@gracefulgraves — TV and radio presenter turned entrepreneur after the death of her father — set up this wonderful, caring company dedicated to a modern and human approach to care after death. Jay certainly has a touching story that you can read on her Instagram. A woman with a mission: making grief more graceful. https://www.gracefulgraves.co.uk

Food, Celebration & Milestones

A regular at the warehouse is @Little Women Food, founded by Josia, who celebrated her 5th anniversary in our space. LWFD is a hub of all things food. From private dining experiences to stunning buffets, they are ready to cater for all occasions.https://www.littlewomanfooddiary.com/services

Josia is a complete expert in her field — a chef, content creator, food stylist and recipe developer. Her multi-platform celebration included an out-of-this-world set design and DJs. An influential businesswoman, she is certainly slaying it in her space — well done, Josia.

Beauty & Beyond

The beauty industry entrepreneurs are thriving at Brixton Warehouse. @The Key Look London is are specialist in lashes and is on the fast track to big success. We hosted a fun beauty parlour shoot for their content.

Growing with Grace: Premium Brands

A regular at the warehouse is the baby brand @Hermosa Babi, a British luxury baby brand. We’ve seen this beautiful premium brand grow from strength to strength, and the quality of photography certainly reflects the brand’s values.

Movement, Wellness & Community

@ The Weekend Project is a movement and lifestyle community dedicated to shaping and redefining the next wave of fitness culture. They run wellness events, sell amazing sportswear and recently held a brand activation day in the studio. A great brand focusing on building a strong community through shared interests — the warehouse was buzzing with their energy and enthusiasm. We’ve loved celebrating them during Global Entrepreneurship Week and UK Small Business Week.

Fashion Forward: Luella Grey London

Luella Grey London was born from a shared love of shoes and accessories. Training at Cordwainers and experience working at Dune united the founders, inspiring them to launch their own handbag and accessory brand.

They produce timeless designs using non-animal materials and have been shooting both lifestyle and model imagery in our space. Their well-considered aesthetic combines statement, jewellery-like hardware with beautifully crafted details. Look out for our upcoming interview with the founders as they share their journey. Follow them at @luellagreylondon.

Supporting the Journey

We know there are bumps in the road — long hours and sleepless nights —, but you’re doing it. You have the passion, determination and that all-important “I’m doing this” attitude.

From day one, we wanted Brixton Warehouse to be a welcoming and flexible space. You can hire by the hour, making it more accessible for smaller business owners to capture content. Brixton is such a hub for young local businesses, and we’re proud to welcome them through our doors. As a young business owner myself, I know how agile and resourceful you need to be. The warehouse offers great backgrounds, furniture and lighting to hire or use — all listed on our website — so you don’t need to invest in lots of kit upfront.

Celebrating Our Creative Community

We’re also excited to welcome our new neighbour, ON A SEW with Marcella — an amazing new sewing workshop. We’re certainly becoming a bit of a crafty corner! Follow them at @onasew.

And finally, congratulations to one of our favourite neighbourhood chefs: 2210 by Natty Can Cook. This new Pan-Caribbean restaurant received high praise from food critic Grace Dent in The Guardian for its incredible Caribbean fusion.
